Earth the third planet that revolves around the sun. It takes one year to complete one revolution. Earth rotates on its axis every 24 hours (one day).
Earth is a sphere composed of rock. Earth is 4 times larger than the moon. Because of liquid water and an atmosphere, Earth can support life. In our solar system Earth is the only planet to support life. The sun provides energy and light for Earth. Earth’s gravity allows organisms, objects, and water to be pulled toward Earth. |
